(II Cor. 5:17, and Eph. 2:10), “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
The grace of God is essentially, that love, that undeserved mercy by which a sinner, through the merit of Christ and not by the sinner’s own effort, may be reconciled to God. In reality it is that Favor that love which is free. The unearned mercy which is God’s grace makes it possible for God to save a lost soul.
This grace is necessary because without it, the sinner has no merit to recommend himself for salvation. Without it, God has no justiciable basis on which to grant him/her pardon.
